Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how First Hero LLC ("First Hero," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use Girl Dad App, the Founding Fathers beta program, and our related websites and services, including firsthero.com and girldad.app.

SMS Privacy and Consent Notice

Girl Dad App by First Hero LLC sends recurring automated marketing text messages only to people who separately and expressly opt in through a Girl Dad App or First Hero form. Providing a mobile phone number, submitting an application, accepting our Terms, or using the service does not by itself enroll anyone in text messages.

Messages may include Founding Fathers application and beta updates, beta-access or onboarding instructions, scheduled Quest and session reminders, essential program notices, product news, feedback requests, invitations, and offers related to Girl Dad App or First Hero.

Consent is optional and is not a condition of applying, purchasing, participating in the Founding Fathers beta, or receiving the service.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information may be disclosed only to service providers acting on our behalf to operate the messaging program or when required by law. Those providers may use the information only to provide services to First Hero LLC and not for their own marketing.

1. Who Girl Dad App Is For

Girl Dad App is intended for adults, especially fathers and adult caregivers. Children should not create accounts or use the app directly.

Because Girl Dad App helps fathers build intentional moments with their daughters, you may choose to provide information about a daughter or family member. We treat that information as sensitive family context and use it to provide, personalize, secure, and improve the service.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

Contact and application information: Your name, email address, mobile phone number, Founding Fathers application responses, eligibility information, support messages, and feedback.

Account and profile information: Password or authentication information, account settings, notification preferences, father profile information, goals, and onboarding status.

Family and app content: Information you choose to provide about a daughter or family member, including names, ages, birth dates, interests, activities, scheduled or completed Quests, Adventures, Rituals, memories, notes, reflections, coaching prompts, Community posts, and comments.

Photos: Photos you choose through your device's system photo picker or camera for memories, journal entries, or Community content. Girl Dad App does not scan your photo library.

Activity information: Account creation date, app and website activity, feature use, progress history, notification events, email nudge events, scheduled activities, and general usage signals.

Calendar information: If you connect a calendar, provider and account information, the selected calendar, encrypted access or refresh tokens, event IDs, sync status, and event details you choose to create through Girl Dad App.

Technical information: Device type, browser type, IP address, operating system, device tokens, logs, error reports, security events, and similar information needed to operate and protect the service.

Transaction information: If paid products are offered, payment and transaction information processed by an app store or payment provider. We may receive transaction status and related records, but payment providers process payment-card details under their own policies.

3. Mobile Information and the Girl Dad App SMS Program

If you provide a mobile phone number, we may collect that number together with your SMS consent choice, the date and time of that choice, the disclosure and privacy-notice versions associated with the choice, the page or form where the choice was made, the applicable campaign or purpose, message delivery records, and opt-out, revocation, or help requests.

Providing a mobile phone number does not by itself enroll you in text messages. Where SMS enrollment is offered, consent is requested through a separate, optional, unchecked consent control. SMS consent is not a condition of applying, purchasing, participating in the Founding Fathers beta, or receiving the service.

If you separately and expressly opt in, Girl Dad App by First Hero LLC may send recurring automated marketing text messages to the mobile number you provided. Messages may include updates about your Founding Fathers application and beta participation, beta-access or onboarding instructions, scheduled Quest and session reminders, essential program notices, product news, feedback requests, invitations, and offers related to Girl Dad App or First Hero. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to unsubscribe from the texting program or HELP for help. We may send one final message confirming an opt-out. You may also revoke consent by contacting cory@firsthero.com and clearly identifying the mobile number and program. We will honor reasonable opt-out requests. Consent applies only to the messaging program and sender identified at the point of opt-in and is not transferred to another unrelated program.

We use mobile information to operate the messaging program you joined, deliver messages permitted by your consent, maintain consent and suppression records, respond to HELP requests, honor STOP and other revocation requests, prevent fraud or abuse, troubleshoot delivery, and comply with applicable requirements.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose mobile information to service providers that act on our behalf to operate the messaging program, such as messaging, telecommunications, hosting, security, analytics, and customer-support providers, or when required by law. Those providers may use the information only to provide services to us and not for their own marketing.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

receive and evaluate Founding Fathers applications;

create and manage accounts;

provide and personalize Girl Dad App features, coaching, Quests, Adventures, Rituals, Community, progress history, and reminders;

store content you choose to save;

provide messages and notifications you request or permit;

create calendar events you request;

respond to support, privacy, safety, and account-deletion requests;

operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the service;

prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; and

comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We may use daughter and family information to personalize app content and coaching context. We do not use this information to shame, manipulate, or guarantee family outcomes.

5. AI Features

Girl Dad App may use AI service providers, including OpenAI, to generate coaching responses, suggestions, summaries, Quests, Rituals, Adventures, or other content. Information you submit to AI-powered features may be processed by our AI providers on our behalf to provide those features.

Do not submit information you are not comfortable using in an AI-supported product experience. AI responses can be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a specific situation.

6. Email, Push, and Other Notifications

We use your email address and notification preferences to send account messages, security messages, support messages, legal notices, application communications, and optional email updates or nudges you permit.

Email nudges may be based on your app activity, account status, recent engagement, completed actions, scheduled adventures, and similar product signals. You can turn optional email nudges off in the app or through email preference links. You may still receive account, security, support, payment, legal, or other service-related emails.

If you enable push notifications, we may store device token information so we can send app reminders to that device. You can disable push notifications in the app or through your device settings.

SMS choices and mobile-information practices are described separately in Section 3.

7. Calendar Integrations

If you connect Google Calendar or another calendar provider, we use the connection only to support calendar features you choose, such as adding adventure events to a selected calendar.

We may store encrypted calendar tokens, provider account email, selected calendar information, event IDs, and sync status. You can disconnect supported calendar integrations in the app. Calendar providers may process your information under their own terms and privacy policies.

8. Community and Sharing

Private reflections, journal entries, memories, coaching conversations, and daughter information are not automatically posted to Community.

If you choose to post in Community, your Community name, current profile photo, post or comment content, and attachments you choose to publish are visible to other active Community members. Do not post information or photos you do not have the right to share.

9. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Girl Dad App, including hosting, database, authentication, messaging, email delivery, push notification, analytics or logging, customer support, calendar integration, media search, payment, security, and AI providers. Current or expected providers may include Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Twilio, OpenAI, Apple, Google, Firebase, GIPHY, and Google Calendar when you connect it. These providers process information on our behalf and may use it only to provide services to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to enforce our Terms, to prevent fraud or abuse, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

The mobile-information restrictions in Section 3 apply regardless of this general sharing section. Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and SMS consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

10. Daughter and Family Information

You control what daughter or family information you add to Girl Dad App. We use that information to personalize the app and support your use of its features.

Do not add information you do not have the right to share. If you want daughter-related information deleted, you can request deletion of your account or contact us.

Girl Dad App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow children to create accounts. If you believe a child has created an account or provided information directly, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure the service, maintain your account, honor communication preferences, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain appropriate business records and backups. Retention periods vary based on the information and the reason it is used.

We may retain SMS consent, revocation, opt-out, and suppression records after other information is deleted when reasonably necessary to demonstrate consent, honor your communication choices, and prevent future messages from being sent after you unsubscribe.

If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify information where required and reasonably practicable, subject to legal, security, billing, backup, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, messaging-suppression, and operational retention needs.

You can begin an account deletion request in the app or at https://firsthero.com/account/delete.

12. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

decline optional marketing email and SMS consent and still submit a Founding Fathers application;

unsubscribe from text messages by replying STOP or by contacting us;

request SMS support by replying HELP or emailing cory@firsthero.com;

manage email and push-notification preferences;

request access to, correction of, or deletion of account information; and

close your account using available in-app tools or by contacting us.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, such as rights to know, access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of personal information. We will honor requests as required by applicable law.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. App Stores and Payment Providers

If you download Girl Dad App through Apple, Google, or another app store, that store may collect and process information under its own terms and privacy policy.

If purchases are offered through Apple, Google, Stripe, or another payment provider, those providers may process payment and transaction information under their own terms and privacy policies. First Hero does not need your full payment-card details to provide app-store-based purchases.

15. International Processing

First Hero is based in the United States. If you use Girl Dad App from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other places where we or our service providers operate.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as appropriate. The effective date shows when the policy was last updated.
